My 2020 Fall Bucket List

Leaves are changing, weather is unpredictable, PSL’s are back, and pumpkins are everywhere.

This means, it’s officially fall.

I feel like most of us didn’t get to experience a fun summer this year, so let’s not have another season pass us too.

To get the most out of this season, I created a list of 10 things I’m doing this fall to make sure it’s a fun one.

  1. Go on a hike.

It’s my boyfriend and I’s first year being a family of three with our new fur baby Louis. This Thanksgiving we decided to start a new family tradition by going on a fall hike. The three of us went to Grimsby and did a quick 45 minute hike at the Beamer Memorial Conservation Area. It wasn’t too challenging and it was everything we were looking for before we had our Thanksgiving dinner with our family.

  2. GO PUMPKIN PICKING AT HOWELL’S

Have a fun night pumpkin picking, and checking out the Beer + Wine Garden at Howell’s Farm.

Their Beer + Wine Garden is such a cute place to get a glass of wine (and maybe a poutine) and enjoy a night out! On your way out is the perfect time to pick a pumpkin so you don’t have to carry it around with you all night!

  3. CARVe YOUR NEW PUMPKINS with those delicious pillsbury halloween cookies

You just went to Howell’s and picked out a huge, beautiful pumpkin. Now it’s time to get creative and carve it! Grab your girlfriends or significant other and have a fun time carving. You can only do this once a year so make the best out of it. If you have a sweet tooth make sure to buy those delicious Pillsbury halloween cookies to bake and enjoy once you’re done.

  4. go out and enjoy heated patios at local restaurants

Let’s face it, the weather is super hit or miss right now. When it’s a nice day out, take advantage and enjoy it on a heated patio!

My favourite local restaurant to go with a heated patio is N’ata Cosa in St. Catharines. If you go you definitely have to try out their wood oven, award winning pizza. It’s Niagara’s only APN certified winning restaurant.

If you like spicy, definitely try the Amaro Bastardo pizza. It’s one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had in my life.

  5. BINGE WATCH HAUNTING OF BLY MANOR.

On a cold fall night, spend it cuddled up with your favourite bottle of wine, a pizza from Rollin’ Pizza , and get in the Halloween spirit by binge watching Haunting of Bly Manor on Netflix. If you haven’t tried the Big Slice from Rollin’ Pizza, here is your chance to make your pizza dreams come true.

  6. DO A HAUNTED WALK ghost tour.

No matter if you’re in Toronto, Kingston or Ottawa have a fun night out at the Haunted Walk Ghost Tour.
John and I experienced the Spirits of the Distillery District Ghost Tour  located in Toronto and we will be finding out why this is one of Toronto’s most haunted spots! If you decide to go dress very warm as it gets pretty cold out now at night time.

  7. cozy up and read a new book

Recently I joined a new ladies book club at The Grantham House restaurant, located in St. Catharine’s. This month we’re reading the book Blood Orange. I always enjoy reading, but cozying up in bed after a long day feels so much better in these colder months. Especially with a glass of wine (my new go-to red wine right now is Eastdell’s Black Cab).

  8. MAKE YOUR OWN AT HOME #PSL

Pumpkin Spice Latte’s at Starbucks cost a fortune, and we all try to ignore the fact how unhealthy they are.
Instead of avoiding enjoying pumpkin spice all together, have the best of both worlds and switch to a healthier alternative. I’ve recently discovered a Pumpkin Spice Raw Honey from a Hamilton based company, Dutchman’s Gold. For $8 you can buy a container of this pumpkin spice honey that will last you longer than the season! I add one teaspoon of this honey whenever I’m making my own Pumpkin Spice latte or coffee, and it tastes amazing.

  9. Enjoy a Niagara Food tour Downtown St.Catharines.

Hosted by locals, enjoy either a Walking Foodie Tour or a Cocktail Tour with Niagara Food Tours. To save money use my discount code BYCOURTNEYTODD .

  10. BOOK A FUN, GETAWAY WEEKEND!

Life has been a mess this past year with COVID-19. Book a weekend getaway to relax and unwind. Come back fresh and ready to tackle the rest of whatever 2020 brings us! Stay tuned on our upcoming weekend getaway in Prince Edward County!
