2x4 Diner

Do you enjoy more sweet or savoury meals when you go out for breakfast?

99% of the time I order a sweet menu item and don’t think twice. That changed during my most recent visit to 2x4 Diner.

Due to the outcome of selecting a savoury meal, and it being very delicious, this may be a huge game changer now for me at every future breakfast restaurant I dine at.

If you haven’t visited 2x4 diner for breakfast, you should add it on your list. This diner is right on the border of Wainfleet and Fenwick, and even though it was a half an hour drive for us from Niagara Falls, it was worth it. This restaurant has a cottage and homey vibe making me feel warm and welcomed during our visit. If you’re not in the mood for breakfast, every Friday night 2x4 Diner is open for dinner and features a different dinner special every week!

Prior to your next visit I would recommend booking a reservation in advance. When we were there, the restaurant was full the entire time and even when we were leaving it didn’t look like it was about to slow down.

Courtney was our server, and from her incredible service, she made our experience very enjoyable.

2x4 Diner has been around since 1957, and is still going strong.

During our visit Courtney told us there are some customers that used to visit in 1957 and still dine here to this day!

That definitely says says something.

Since my sister also enjoys going to new restaurants, we got to experience this diner for our first time together.

We started our dining experience with ordering bottomless tea and coffee and the Special of the Day which was two Peameal Breakfast Sliders.

As I mentioned earlier, I usually order a sweet menu item for breakfast. After Courtney recommended her favourite meal which is the Farmers Delight Breakfast Hash, I knew I needed to save the sweet tooth for my next visit.

The sausage they use is delivered from a small, local butcher and is made in small batches. It is 100% Gluten Free and made with no fillers, so you don’t have to think twice about what you’re eating.

Taylor ordered the French Toast, and after I couldn’t stop drooling and eyeing her breakfast (even though I loved mine) she took the hint and was nice enough to share.

Both of our breakfasts were absolutely delicious.

On our way out, I couldn’t avoid making a stop at the dessert cabinet. Everything looked delicious, so again, I asked Courtney what she recommended and she told us how the Flakies from Fenwick Pie Company are super tasty and popular. Out of the three flavours of Flakies (Lemon, Raspberry and Blueberry) we took two Raspberry Flakies to enjoy at home.

We had a wonderful time at 2x4 diner, and if you’re looking to support a local business or even try out a new place to enjoy a great breakfast you won’t be disappointed.

Tag me in all of your photos @bycourtneytodd once you go and I want to see what breakfast item YOU decide on!
