Bikini Competition Plans for 2020

One of my goals this year was to compete in my first bikini competition.

After the competition I have been working towards (which was supposed to take place this June in Ottawa) got cancelled due to COVID-19, I was angry, upset and lost. It was the perfect opportunity for me to take the easy way out and take the rest of this year off, and maybe plan to compete next year.

It took me weeks to figure out what I wanted to do moving forward. It would be the easiest to not compete and not start up posing sessions again, because frankly it’s hard and I suck at it.

After talking to my coach, Jax Physiques we have created a new plan.

Now until November, I am going to start up those difficult posing lessons again, I am going to continue following a diet plan, and will be continuing spending time working out in my home gym until my regular one opens up again. Because this November, in Calgary, I am competing in my first bikini competition.

To make this trip to out West even more fun, John and I will be travelling to to Banff and Lake Louise after I compete. November is our 3 year anniversary, so between that, and finally have competed in my first bikini competition, there will be lots to celebrate.

As I mentioned before, after talking to my coach and making new competition plans, we also created new plans for right now. My new current short term goal is to lose 5lbs, which will bring me to my goal weight of 110lbs. 110lbs is when I felt the happiest about my body, so that’s the reason I am making it my goal to weigh that amount again.

After accomplishing that goal, our plans will be to slowly start building muscle until my prep starts for my competition. Usually around 16 weeks before the competition is when prep starts, and it’s when your food intake goes down, and alcohol is completely cut out. This is a very important time to stay strict, and focused to make sure you bring your best body to the stage.

Honestly, I feel scared and nervous, but more than anything I feel excited. This is going to be one of the most terrifying things I do (and this is coming from someone who has jumped out of a plane while skydiving in Hawaii) , but I know it will also be one of the most rewarding things I do.

Jax Physiques, (aka my coaches, Rob and Jessica) have been great to me. John, my biggest supporter has helped me get through the difficult time of having absolutely no plan and not wanting to create one. Having an incredible support system is something I am very thankful for.

So, since one of my goals this year was to compete in my first bikini competition, that’s what I’m going to do.
